Sixty Minutes

I’ve washed children,

I’ve walked dogs,

I’ve got myself up tight.

I’ve been good

And I’ve been bad

I’ve maybe been half right.

I’ve needed to

I’ve yearned to be –

So much I want to shout

But every time

I sit and try

I see the time’s run out

So I’ve cleaned mutts

And I’ve walked kids

I guess I’m still here fighting

To skip the dishes

Leave the phone –

AND GET ON WITH MY WRITING!

(although now, of course – I can’t think of anything to write about.)
